There was a lovely girl came for "Juusanmairi" yesterday!! Juusanmairi is a traditional ritual held in the year children growing up to thirteen. To prey for happiness, blessing, wisdom and health for their own child, the parents will bring their boy or girl to make a formal visit to the god. Usually they will go to the Horin-ji in Kyoto. After the ritual, the child should cross the Togetsukyo Bridge. (It is said that you can't look back when you are crossing the bridge.)

This cute girl looks so elegant in the orange kimono. Guess what? The kimono was also worn by the girl's mother! Many Japanese families has a custom passing on the treasure kimono to the next generation. Behind this custom, it may be the continuation of tradition and culture. ;)
